Florida Gulf Coast University Student Interns

Student Interns are an integral part of the Aquatic Systems program and come from many different colleges within the university.

The goal of the Intern Program is to provide experiences for students which will enhance their skills and abilities related to their interests and fields of study.  After an extensive selection process, 10 student interns are chosen to assist with a variety of aspects of the program including:

  • Direct classroom teaching
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Collecting aquatic critters
  • Production of materials for student use
  • Assisting with various programs of the Environment Education program of the Lee County School District
  • Scheduling and sending reminder notices

Throughout the year, training sessions are held to provide the interns with current up to date information regarding mosquitoes, disease, mosquito control and related topics.
